I have a Pocket Watch with a certificate in the case that says "Jas. Boss" and has a number of 1743092. At the bottom of the certificate it says "C. N. Thorpe, PREST". The certificate states the watch case is 14K filled, that is is a genuine Jas, Bos case made of two plates of solid gold 14 K. Fine overlaying a plate of composition metal and is warranted to wear for 20 years.
The movement has a number of 219445 stamped or etched on it. It has has etched in scroll the initial (I believe it is difficult to read) O. L. and the last name of Clayton and Aurora IL.
Can anyone help me with Identifying where this movement was made and the age? I don't know if this is an Aurora watch Co Watch or an Illinois Watch company watch or an Independent watchmaker. I think I have the case somewhat dated, but I am also not 100% positive about that!!
I would really appreciate any help you can offer!
