Ball Rail Road Pocket Watch

Hi and thanks for this opportunity to tell you about my watch. Both my grand parents passed away years ago and while my grand father was alive he never wore a wrist watch, it was all ways a nice looking Pocket Watch. Well, several years after they were gone, no one in our family ever moved into that old drafty antique of a house of theirs so I decided to just go checking it out. He had a bad habit of hiding money and forgetting where it was so I just so happened to have pulled off an old base board and there it was - a Ball Railroad Pocket Watch.

I never gave it any thought, brought it home and like lots of other things I hide them away in the back of my cabinets. I found it ten years ago so while doing some straightening up last night I found it once again and then started to really check it out.

So far I can tell you it is a 23 Jewel Official Rail Road Standard 14K gold filled, serial number 7048860 because all that is wrote inside the back cover that I finally discovered unscrews off. I felt like James Bond, 007 opening up a secret compartment. The back cover has some designs or engravings on it. You can see that with the pictures of the watch I will be uploading to go along with this letter so to be honest I haven't got a clue as to what I have with this old watch found behind an old baseboard? So anyone that knows more about it than I do and that will be easy as I know absolutely zero can feel free to reply to me here, I will supply and share your knowledge with me.

Thanks for taking the time to read this. Bye, from Paul R in Louisiana
