My Uncle Gustav was born in Germany in the late 1800's. Don't know anything about how he got it. Never opened it till today. Case reads Wartburg D-R-G-M. Once the top winding pocket watch is removed, there is a shield or coat of arms on the back. The front has no name of maker. I opened the back and in cursive, it reads, "Surprise" and it appears to be on gold. There are two hallmarks or maker's marks or something. See the pics. Also reads, "MADE IN WEST GERMANY"
