SQUARE ANTIQUE POCKET WATCH

This pocket watch was passed down from someone born in France. The number 2304 appears inside the top lead, and some French writing on the system itself.

I am not quite sure if it is Silver or not as there are no hallmarks anywhere that I can see.

I don't have any ideas what this unusual pocket watch might be, who made it or where it comes from, if anyone has any ideas I would love to hear them.
